Course: An Introduction to Psychodynamic Group Therapy
Instructor: Bart Gardy, LCSW
Group therapy, sometimes considered a less valued modality, can be a powerful experience for patients and should not be underestimated. The “here and now” interpersonal experiences within the group setting, along with the reflection and integration of those experiences can prove truly curative. This course will address the practical considerations (frame, therapeutic contract, fees, referrals, etc.) and several theoretical approaches will be discussed. The course will be comprised of readings, clinical examples and an experiential group will be conducted.
Dates: Mondays, March 28, April 4, 11, 18, 2016 – 6:45 pm – 8:15 pm.
Location: 280 Madison Avenue, Suite 1201 (Madison Avenue & 40th Street)
Bart Gardy, LCSW is a graduate of the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis’ Certificate Program in Psychoanalysis. He holds a certificate as a Certified Group Psychotherapist from the American Group Psychotherapy Association. He is in private practice in NYC.
