Dear Rob, This is a beautifully written piece.

I am grateful to be reminded to feel more comfortable with uncertainty in my work. Reminds me of John Keat's negative capability which he defined as “when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts..." I know Bion talked about negative capability too. So hard to do sometimes.

Thank you again,
Lorraine

Michele thank you for those kind words. My sense is that it is a matter of trusting oneself while also staying open to the different meanings that arise and occur in response to what we’re doing/saying/thinking. In other words as you say “staying curious”. Thanks again

Thank you for this beautiful piece of writing. This work we do is so complex, it’s easy to get lost in our own heads and lose sight of the ultimate goal of understanding each other… easier said than done.

I’m reminded of a line from a Whitman poem, “Song of Myself”:

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
