Thank you Cousin Lorrie! You know I first fasted imperfectly for Ramadan when I was in Turkey with our dear Thomas, your cousin. We began fasting on the first day of Ramadan in Konya where Mevlana Rumi lived and died. We prayed respectfully in many mosques and shrines, and ate when others broke their fast. We were embraced by the sense of community. I have found such openness and curiosity in different parts of this country, especially from some special people who are from Montana. It’s nice to share our inner world when someone is listening and reflecting. Thanks for the prayers.

From my standpoint as a Montana-born, Presbyterian, I enjoyed this writing, as it gives me a taste of your religion, Vivek, and the other beliefs in your homeland, along with the almost, constant strife for peoples there. I thank Allah for you, and add my Christian prayers for your family and for peace in your countrymen’s hearts.

This weaving turned out to be a suitable way to think of and then illuminate the interconnectedness and diversity contained within the experience of engaging with faith, the world and life. I'm glad it is of use to the community Lorraine.

Thanks Constance. I was encouraged by Tricia's and Blair's prompts to share more about my own experience in response to the intimate sharing of my clients. I was also prompted to give us a window into a world not often seen, that of empathetic work done with clients around the subject and context of Islam.
