I agree completely that the relational turn has created opportunities for analysts to share more of themselves both in the work and on the page, and I also believe that it's created new anxieties for those who want to write: now it's *really* personal.

The support of a group can be so helpful. Chris's "Introduction to Writing a Psychoanalytic Article" is the perfect place to begin. And write for the Analysis Now blog, too! The editors (ahem, ahem) want to hear your ideas and are here to help you develop them.

Chris,
Thank you for this enthusiastic and inspiring blog for us aspiring writers! You speak to the many negative voices/ statements that often float through my mind when it comes to writing. This is very encouraging .
