Dear Friends of the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis,

This year marks the 35th Anniversary of the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis – thirty-five years of providing rigorous academic and professional training, as well low cost psychotherapy to people in the New York Metropolitan area, including many students, actors, artists and others who do not have access to affordable mental health treatment in a private practice setting. In light of the changing mental health care climate, which emphasizes quick fixes and offers limited resources to people seeking individual treatment, programs like ours are essential to fill the gap left by insurance company policies. We need your support to continue our efforts.

Our “35 for 35” fundraising campaign, celebrating and commemorating our Institute’s 35th anniversary, is now underway. Your contribution will help support the Institute’s programs, including:

Treatment

  • Our Treatment Referral Service offers low cost psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to the community provided by trained Manhattan Institute graduates, candidates, and faculty.
  • One of the first psychoanalytic institutes to develop a Trauma Treatment Center, MIP offers affordable clinical services specializing in the treatment of trauma.

Training

  • Certificate Program in Psychoanalysis: an intensive and comprehensive psychoanalytic five-year training program.
  • Licensure Qualifying Program in Psychoanalysis: prepares qualified master’s level professionals, not licensed in psychiatry, psychology or social work, for licensure as a New York State Licensed Psychoanalyst.
  • One Year Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy: an introductory training program for beginning clinicians.
  • Certificate Program in Trauma Studies: a 2-year certificate program in the study and treatment of trauma.

Professional Development

  • Colloquium Series: an annual series of presentations by eminent thinkers in the field, open to the public and to mental health professionals.
  • LGBTQ initiative: focuses on issues of gender and sexuality.
  • Multicultural committee: explores the impact of race and culture on the work of psychoanalysis.

Now is an important time to help us continue our mission. For your convenience, you can make your tax-deductible donation by clicking on the image above or by calling 212 422 1221 or by mail at Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis 245 E. 13th Street Ground Floor New York NY 10003.

Your gift will make a real difference for our candidates and the clients they serve. We invite you to help us continue the vital work of the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis – what we provide is essential, and the essence of what we do lies in service.

With gratitude for your generosity and all best wishes,
